The Autonomous Community has built a pedestrian promenade on the regional road RM-B13, which is the main access road to the municipality of Albudeite from the Northwest motorway (RM-15), to facilitate the movement of residents on foot to the municipal cemetery .
The works have a regional government investment of 112,000 euros.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, inaugurated, accompanied by the mayor of Albudeite, Jesús García, the new pedestrian walkway, which he considered "very necessary for the residents to carry out this tour in safety conditions and not for the margin of the road, as they had been doing, because they did not have space ".
Valverde also stressed that this highway has an average traffic intensity of 1,000 vehicles per day, mainly due to its connection with the Northwest motorway, so "it was essential to act to eliminate any risk of accident for people."
The pedestrian route has a length of 580 meters, starts on the RM-B13 highway, at the height of the municipal cemetery, and continues until it joins the MU-531, which already has a sidewalk to reach the urban area of Albudeite.
The action has included the paving of the sidewalk and the existing entrances of the vehicles to the farms.
Another important aspect of the works is the construction of a rainwater evacuation system to avoid floods in episodes of heavy rains.
For this, ditches, drainage system, drains and collectors for the collection and management of rainwater have been built.
Lighting, signs and existing streetlamps have also been improved, which will be placed on the outside of the sidewalk.
