The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation, framed in the 'Plan against the abductions in agricultural and livestock farms' and established to clarify the theft of about two tons of lemons in farms of the region of the River Mula, that has culminated in the arrest of the alleged author.
Effective of the ROCA team (against robberies in the field) of the Benemérita began the operation when several farmers of the localities of Mula and La Puebla de Mula denounced the subtraction of large quantities of a variety of lemon, cultivated in their fincas and valued in about 3,000 euros.
To enter one of the farms, in addition, they violated the chain that prevents the circulation of vehicles, placed at the beginning of the rural road that gives access to it.
The investigations carried out by the investigators made it possible to ascertain that the abductions had taken place at dawn and in a staggered fashion, until they took possession of large quantities of the product, and that the suspects had to know little rural roads that they could access without arousing suspicion.
Citizen collaboration
As the investigation progressed and thanks to the collaboration of citizens, signs were obtained, which made suspicion of a neighbor of Albudeite, with a history of crimes of the same nature, which drove a van similar to the one detected, in the wee hours of the morning , by neighbors of the area.
The Civil Guard found that the suspect was engaged in the sale of citrus fruits, so he knew the farms in the area, the state of its production, as well as the rural roads and trails to move around.
Once obtained the necessary information, the Benemérita has detained a Spanish person, of 52 years as presumed author of the crimes of robbery and theft with force in agricultural exploitations.
The arrested and the investigations have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 2 of Mula.
