Agriculture allocates more than 700,000 euros to improve eight rural roads in the Region (09/08/2017)

The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries this month carried out the repair and improvement of the Camino de las Viñas, located in the municipality of Albudeite, in an action that has a budget of 43,500 euros, cofinanced in 63 per Cent for the Feader Fund.

This action is included in the Phase II works project of the 2016 call for the Rural Development Program (PDR) for the period 2014-2020, which has a budget of 711,000 euros for eight roads, 20,100 meters long In total, located in Albudeite, Bullas, Cieza, Jumilla, Molina de Segura, Moratalla and Yecla.

They are carried out through direct Community investment, co-financed by the European Feader funds and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The director general of Agricultural Funds and Rural Development, Carmen Sandoval, today visited the Albudeite road, which has a length of 870 meters and an average width of 5.5 meters, and connects with the RM-35 regional road.

The Camino de las Viñas facilitates access to a population of 50 inhabitants living in houses scattered in the Cañada de Agustín area and to numerous farms in the community of irrigators Acequias Cara and Daya.

The planned actions include the clearing of the road margins, approximately 20 centimeters wide, to eliminate the vegetation that invades the roadway and cleaning the existing gutters.

In some sections, the firm is being improved by mechanical sweeping of the tread layer and subsequent application of an adhesion irrigation and construction of a layer of hot asphalt agglomerate 5 centimeters thick, compacted and level.

In other more damaged sections, the existing firm is being milled.

Vertical road signs are also being improved with the installation of nine new traffic signs.
